Where the authors agree
Both authors place Caine, Star Fruit, Watchman of Doom and Upgraded Titan Clockman in S. Treat that as agreement between these two lists, not proof that every player should equip the same team.
Where the choice needs context
Party Cat is A for Polio and C for Darwishgaming1. Teapot 1x1x1x1 is S for Polio and C for Darwishgaming1. Moon Blossom is S in Darwishgaming1’s list but absent from Polio’s published rows. Unranked does not mean weak.
Polio describes an overall-helpfulness list. Darwishgaming1 mixes strength, usefulness, performance and value. Those criteria differ from a pure DPS ranking, and neither author supplies a complete test protocol.
Before chasing a tier letter, identify the job your lineup lacks: opening damage, economy, control or a later damage option. Use the beginner and progression guides for that decision; use the value list to assess a trade separately.
Historical / Pre-Raid baseline — September 18
Both creator rankings below retain their original September 18, 2026 placements. They are historical pre-Raid evidence, not the current meta. No tier letters were moved or re-dated in this review.
A current rank would need a dated comparison with the same upgrade state, buffs, target conditions and mode. A price movement or title update alone does not establish a combat buff.
Best units by role — pick the job before the price
Current winners are UNKNOWN. Historical examples below retain their source date; the October starter lead is REPORTED, not a consensus recommendation.
Price does not choose your damage dealer. Party Cat carries a higher community trade estimate than several damage-focused units, yet the dated September video reports lower raw DPS than Star Fruit. A scarce collectible is not automatically the upgrade your current run needs: use the value list when negotiating and this comparison when reading creator opinions, then check the live cost, range, effects and placement behaviour of the unit you actually own.
One trap for role research: do not import Golden Ranger, Golden Mobster or Emperor wave scripts from another tower-defense game. A result that mentions Slop in its title can still describe a different game’s mechanics.
- Pick the map and difficulty where your team currently stalls.
- Decide whether the failure comes from the opening, grouped enemies, sustained damage or missing support.
- Replace one unit and keep every other placement unchanged.
- Record the wave reached, the upgrades bought and the resources spent, then repeat before spending scarce ingredients.
- DPS — UNKNOWN current winner. REPORTED historical September 18 candidates: Star Fruit (splash/fire) and Corgi Poseidon (piercing). These are role descriptions, not current comparative tests.
- Starter — REPORTED October creator-board lead: Star Egg Noob. Moon Blossom remains a historical September role example. Current cost, buffs and opening performance are not established; no current best starter is assigned.
- Support — UNKNOWN current winner. A historical creator report describes a statue buffer without enough current evidence for a best-support claim.
- Raid — UNKNOWN current winner. The official event announcement supplies no lineup ranking; historical S letters do not establish post-rework Raid performance.
- Farming / Economy — UNKNOWN current winner. The historical CHALLS walkthrough demonstrates the risk of an economy-only opening, not a current income ranking.
- Trade value is separate from combat tier. Market demand and price do not establish DPS, starting cost or team utility.
